Three steps. One visit. Done for a year.
Backflow compliance is a sequence, and we run all of it — you only do step one.
Book your test
Call or send the form below. Tell us what your notice says — or send us a photo of it — and we'll schedule around you.
We test on-site
A certified tester checks your backflow preventer in about 20–30 minutes. Pass or fail, you know before we leave — and if it needs repair, we quote it on the spot.
We file & remind
We submit the certification directly to your water authority the same day, send you a copy, and contact you before next year's deadline. You're done.
Everything a backflow device needs, from one crew.
Testing is the front door, but when a device fails or a new line needs protection, you don't want a second contractor. We handle the full lifecycle.
Annual backflow testing
Certified test of any backflow preventer — RPZ, double check, PVB — with same-day filing to your water authority and a tagged, documented device.
Repair & rebuild
Failed test? Most devices can be rebuilt on the same visit with manufacturer kits. We retest after repair and file the passing result at no extra testing charge.
New installation & replacement
New irrigation system, fire line, or a device past its service life — we install code-compliant backflow preventers and register them with the authority.
Portfolio compliance management
For property managers and HOAs: we inventory every device across your properties, test on schedule, file every certification, and send one consolidated report.
Have a lawn sprinkler system at your home?
Homes with irrigation or fire sprinkler systems are required to have a testable backflow preventer — and water authorities require an annual certified test, even if you've never received a letter. If you've got sprinklers and have never had a test, you're likely out of compliance without knowing it.
One flat price. No surprises on the invoice.
You'll know the cost before we're on the truck. Repairs are always quoted on-site before any work begins.
Annual backflow test
- Any device up to 2″ — RPZ, double check, or PVB
- Certified test, device tag, and documentation
- Same-day filing with your water authority
- Reminder before next year's deadline
Additional devices, same visit
- Second and later devices tested on the same trip
- Larger devices (over 2″) quoted up front
- Portfolios & multi-property: volume pricing, one consolidated invoice
About water authority filing fees: some water authorities and municipalities charge their own paperwork processing fee when a test is submitted (often in the $15–20 range). Your choice: we front the fee and submit for you — it appears on your invoice with a small handling charge — or we hand you the completed certification and you submit it yourself and pay the authority directly. Either way, you'll know which applies before we test.
Organize your neighborhood. Everyone saves.
Every spring, community Facebook pages and HOA boards fill up with the same post: "Anyone know who does backflow tests?" Be the neighbor with the answer. Book a Community Testing Day and we'll test the whole neighborhood in one visit — at group pricing no one gets alone.
How a Community Testing Day works
- One neighbor, HOA board member, or property manager organizes. Post in your community group, collect names — we'll give you a simple signup sheet to share.
- We book a dedicated day for your neighborhood. Ten or more homes on the same day unlocks group pricing for everyone on the list.
- Each homeowner pays their own discounted rate. No collecting money, no HOA billing headaches — we invoice each home individually.
- Every test is filed and every device tagged, and the whole neighborhood gets a reminder before next year's deadline — so next spring, nobody has to ask the Facebook group.
Pricing per standard device up to 2″. Additional devices at the same home tested at the group rate. HOAs and condo associations with common-area devices: we'll fold those into the same day at portfolio pricing.
Built for the person holding the compliance letter.
Different properties, same problem: a required test with a deadline. Here's how we handle yours.
Required test, one visit, done.
Many Pittsburgh-area townhome and HOA communities require annual testing. We show up on time, test in under half an hour, and file the paperwork. Even better: rally your neighbors for a Community Testing Day and everyone pays less.
Every device, every property, on schedule.
We track your full device inventory, test before deadlines, file every certification, and hand you one report. Compliance stops being a spreadsheet you worry about.
Never fail a water authority inspection again.
Your backflow devices protect your license to operate. We keep them tested, tagged, documented, and on file — before the inspector ever asks.
What is backflow, anyway?
Your plumbing is designed for water to flow one direction — from the public supply into your property. A pressure drop in the system (a main break, a hydrant opening) can pull water backward, siphoning whatever is in your pipes — irrigation water, boiler additives, soap from a car wash bay — into the drinking water everyone shares.
A backflow preventer is the valve that makes that impossible. Because it's a mechanical device protecting public health, water authorities require a certified annual test to prove it still works. That's the letter you received — and that's the entire service we've built our company around.
Single-family home with a lawn sprinkler or fire sprinkler system? Those systems require a testable backflow preventer, and the annual test requirement applies to you — whether or not a letter has found you yet.

Pittsburgh and the greater Western Pennsylvania region — including Wexford, Cranberry Township, Gibsonia, McCandless, Ross Township, Allison Park, Fox Chapel, Sewickley, Mars, and surrounding Allegheny and Butler County communities. Not sure if you're in range? Call or text us — we probably are.
Backflow testing FAQ
The things people ask us on the phone, answered here first.
What is backflow testing and why is it required?
A backflow preventer keeps water flowing one direction — into your property, never back into the public supply. Water authorities require an annual test by a certified tester to confirm the valve works. If you received a notice, your test is due.
How long does a backflow test take?
Most tests take 20 to 30 minutes per device. We test, tag the device, and file the results with your water authority the same day.
Do you file the paperwork with the water authority?
Yes — filing is included with every test. You get a copy for your records and we submit the certification directly to your water authority.
What happens if my device fails the test?
We tell you on the spot and quote the repair before doing anything. Most common devices can be rebuilt during the same visit; we then retest and file the passing result at no extra testing charge.
I own a townhome — do I really need this?
Many Pittsburgh-area townhome and HOA communities have backflow preventers on individual units or shared irrigation and fire lines, and the water authority requires annual testing. If you received a letter, yes — and it takes one short visit to resolve.
Do you handle multiple properties for property managers?
Yes. We inventory every device across your portfolio, schedule tests ahead of deadlines, file all certifications, and send one consolidated compliance report. One vendor, zero missed deadlines.
I have a lawn sprinkler system at my house — do I need a test?
Almost certainly yes. Homes with lawn irrigation or fire sprinkler systems are required to have a testable backflow preventer (a PVB, double check, or RPZ), and water authorities require an annual test by a certified tester — even if you haven't received a letter yet. A standard home without a sprinkler system typically has a non-testable dual check valve and doesn't need an annual test.
How much does it cost, and are there any extra fees?
Our annual test is a flat $119 per device up to 2″, including the test, tag, and same-day filing — additional devices on the same visit are $89 each. Some water authorities charge their own paperwork processing fee (often $15–20): we can front it and submit for you with a small handling charge, or hand you the completed certification to submit yourself at cost. We'll tell you which applies before we test.
Can our neighborhood or HOA book a group testing day?
Yes — that's our Community Testing Day program. One organizer collects 10 or more homes in the same neighborhood, we dedicate a day to your community, and everyone pays a discounted group rate: $99 per home at 10–19 homes, $89 at 20–34, and $79 at 35+. Each homeowner is invoiced individually, so nobody has to collect money, and the organizer's test is free at 15+ homes. We provide a signup sheet you can share in your community group.
